[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] AT is certainly not a 3-betting hand preflop, but some people do it with AQ. [/ QUOTE ] Re-read the action. Hero open-raised on the button. SB's 3-betting range could be pretty large here versus a probable steal raise. [/ QUOTE ] I completely agree with this. I think capping is a mistake. What are you putting him on that he would lead out and three bet? Card [/ QUOTE ] Any flush. Jonathan |

I agree that there are more hands that make a flush than those that can beat you. However, I think that is only half the story. It is far more likely that he would three bet those hands that beat you given the full house is so obvious and the way the hand played out IMO. Good luck.

You missed QQ [/ QUOTE ] And TT and A7. [ QUOTE ] I think that there are much a larger range of hands here like most flushes, that he would play this way and pay me off on. I think failing to cap gives up EV. [/ QUOTE ] The range of hands that you are ahead of and he pays off with do not 3-bet the river. [ QUOTE ] Did anyone else think that I should simply call the river bet out of fear of being beaten here? [/ QUOTE ] I think you should've called the river 3-bet. Unless he's some kind of maniac - I don't think he's three-betting with many hands that you beat. You can't fold - this is the place to just call. Raising his river lead is good. Capping his 3-bet is spewing. |

[ QUOTE ] I guess I don't mind the river cap - some might say just call it. You're beaten by JK [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], AA, AT, and AQ. [/ QUOTE ] You missed QQ, which is what he showed down. I think that there are much a larger range of hands here like most flushes, that he would play this way and pay me off on. I think failing to cap gives up EV. Did anyone else think that I should simply call the river bet out of fear of being beaten here? Suerte, Jonathan [/ QUOTE ] OMG - I did forget QQ. I just didn't make much sense to me at time when I initially looked at the way he played the hand. But in looking at it now, since you didn't reraise on the flop (which I still think is correct), he had to lead the turn (if you play back at him on the flop, he may just check fold the turn). Once you raised him on thr turn, he proabably was going to just try to see a showdown. Until his miracle river hits. That blows. That's poker. |
