Is there a "field" bet available?

The title of the thread is wrong these are odds of making the final table.

These odds are hilarious. The only possibly +EV bet will be the field. [/ QUOTE ] I would take the field as low as 3 to 1 |

Re: World Series of Poker/WSOP Odds of Winning Main Event (May 21)
These final table odds are only someone's opinion, and not based on the market.
Still, I wonder what Humberto Berenes would think of his 200 to 1 odds vs Eric and Alex Berenes at 100 to 1. Are they twice as good as Humberto? And to have Toby Maguire at 80 to 1? Even Clonie Gowen is favored over Humberto. What has she done, other than to win the Indian Poker game on "The Nuts" last wsop. |

if, by saying '2-1 on top' you mean you'll double those odds, i'll bite (just for fun): I'll bet $25 (at 5$ each) on (odds adjusted to reflect your offer): greenstien 80:1 harrington 132:1 giang 160:1 reese 160:1 hellmuth 100:1 well? it would at least make it intresting to follow, and i can afford to give you $25. (i realize it's a sucker bet) [/ QUOTE ] I want to bet $25 on this too. |

Re: World Series of Poker/WSOP Odds of Winning Main Event (May 21)
Adding all of these up gives you 404% ROI if you bet all of them (and any of them wins). Thinking about this, you are stating there is about a 1 in 4 chance of any of these players winning the series. I think this is a fairly reasonable assumption. There are 261 elite(ish) players on this list. Given the estimated field of 6600, this represents about 4% of the field. Basically this means that this group of players has about 6 times better chance at winning than anybody else in the field (25% (or 1 in 4) /4%).
This is how I see it. I may be wrong. If there are any statistics people out there, does this make sense to you? |

Odds of winning the WSOP, and I actually didn't expect to get offers. I really wish I could take you up on it, but... Eh...

An Old WSOP Proposition Bet
Before the 2001 WSOP someone posted here that he'd take the field plus TJ against any 40 of your picks, and bet any amount for even money. Dunno if he had any takers.
So what's the bet this year? Field plus Ivey, Juanda, Negreanu, and maybe 2-3 other guys(Lindgren, Grinder, Gardner and/or Sagstrom maybe), against 50-200 of the bettors' picks? Lay 3-1, 5-1? I'm not offering this, of course, but IMO someone could have EV++ by doing so. |
