Default Missed valuebet and turnbet?

Opponent tight passive. This is a standard river bet?

Turn: (2.20 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)

River: (4.20 BB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, Button checks.

Final Pot: 4.20 BB

Opponents are loose/tight passive. Usually I bet turn here but checked this time. Any thoughts about the freecard play?
The more I think about it I lean toward always betting the turn. Both are probably drawing most of the time and the hand does not have enough clean outs if behind to be worth worrying about a check-raise.

#1, against a tight passive, I'm check-folding the turn. I don't see a ton of value in a river bet if your reads are accurate.

#2 is an easy river value bet. I don't mind checking the turn here -- sometimes I bet and sometimes I check, it really depends on how often I feel that my opponents will bluff the river, how often they'll peel the flop but fold to any non-pairing turns, etc.

Hand 1: If your opponent is tight-passive, then you could probably show an immediate profit by raising this preflop and betting any flop.

Hand 2: Easy river bet. If UTG bets into you, then I would raise and fold to a 3-bet. I agree with Entity about sometimes checking, sometimes betting this turn.

1st hand:

Betting the turn against a tight/passive is self-destructive. Checkfold and hope for a free card.

Your best shot on the river is probably to induce the busted flush/OESD to bluff. You won't be called by many worse hands. Still you might catch a seven or small pocket, so betting could be right. It's close IMO.

Note that I would definitely vote for check except that bad aces got kicker relief on the river. Now I expect him to usually bet behind with any ace. Normally I would hope for many free showdowns from weak aces.

If you do bet you will often be raised by a slowplaying five, set (even aces), or AK/AQ/A7. This should be safe to fold, but if you don't agree then definitely don't bet, because you'll payoff like an ATM.
