Default a hand I witnessed at 4-8

Hand I witnessed. All decisions could be questioned. Hero is in middle position with As5s. Game is somewhat on the loose side. Typical 4-8 game.

Loose UTG raises. Bad player UTG+1 calls. Decent player UTG+2 calls. Hero calls. Everyone else folds including the blinds.

Flop is 8d7d3s

Hero has some backdoor draws plus an overcard. UTG bets. UTG+1 calls. UTG+2 folds. Hero calls.

Turn is 7s.

Hero now has nut flush draw on a paired board. UTG bets. UTG+1 raises. Hero calls. UTG folds.

River is 4s.

Hero now has nut flush. UTG+1 bets. Hero raises. UTG+1 calls and of course flush is good. UTG+1 shows a 7 for trips.

How did hero do?

Preflop - Fold

Flop - Fold

Turn - Call, but it's pretty close since there is some possibility that hero is drawing dead

River - Raise

I'm with Homer, it's misplayed on just about every street. Tell the Hero, not to quit his day job.

Couldn't agree more, though if you really think he is drawing dead on the turn, why raise the river?

If I decide to keep drawing, I've decided I'm not drawing dead haven't I?

Don't draw to a hand you can't bet. I think Ray Zee said that in one of the 2+2 books.

Our hero must has x-ray vision to be calling like that.

i don't like the preflop call; i'd want a couple more coldcallers and the button. that being said, you can't just call the flop. folding is fine, but if you're gonna play, you have to raise. utg is loose, utg+1 is bad. good utg+2 already mucked. you have 3 ace outs, and 3ish backdoor outs. raise the flop, take the free card on the turn. if that had happened i doubt utg+1 would have raised his 7 on the turn, he would have gone for the c/r.

anyway, just my thoughts.

Hero is obviously very clever to have cracked the shuffling algorithm and figured out how to view all the opponents' hole cards.

Thanks for the responses.

I would agree that the pre-flop call was terrible but some people are gamblers. The one that I am still not sure about was the flop. Not sure if the pot is big enough to call with an overcard and 2 backdoor draws.

I saw this at the Bellagio while I was in Vegas!
