if im gonna bet this out, im gonna bet at least $1 here. it helps you to find out where you are at. i recommend staying away from flop bets that are under half the pot. i think it plays out differently if you bet more to begin with.

Of course, that's what i get for trying to have some callers to my 2 pair. I don't know why I didn't spot that...

at 25nl they will call a $1 bet just about as often as they will call a $.50 bet. however you only need them to call the $1 bet half as many times for it to be equally as profitable as the $.50 bet. But, since they will call the dollar more than half as many times as the $.50 bet, it is a more profitable bet in the long run.

note: all this is assuming you are ahead with your two pair

What possible hands have you beat? AA, A8, & A9. Pre-flop he called, but this is Party so that's no information if you don't have a read (Party has to be the slowplayingist bunch at 25NL ever). SB completes - no information. You checked pre-flop - no information from you.

Baby bet the flop. Here you told him I don't really want this pot I'm taking a stab at it I've got junk raise and I'm gone. Villian believed you and came back big $4 raise into a $1.75 pot and the SB calls.

Right now, the SB is the dangerous one - unknown calling a raise and re-raise, but it's party.

Worst case you are facing A8 AND A, thus drawing dead. Next worse case facing A8 or A9 and down to 3 outs.

Facing no reads and it's Party 25NL, A 2x the pot bet after showing nada preflop response to a mini-raise with a tagalong (SB). Fold and hate it. The mini-raise causes trouble unless you have the nuts to hammer the near certain re-raise from anyone with strength.

You need to make a determination right there and decide if your hands good. This is a raise or fold situation since you're unlikely to hit your boat and it seems likely at least 1 of them is on a heart draw. Putting hand reading aside MP seems to REALLY like his hand, the problem with 25nl is that it's hard to tell the difference between a set/2pair/TPTK bet. You'll run into a lot of total idiots making this bet ATo that hard in this situation. Unfortunately you only have 2 pair which isn't a strong enough hand to call that bet without a read. I would just muck it and figure out what he's betting that crazy amount with, it's possible he went for a limp raise with AA preflop and fell into top set.
