Default 10-25 NL in new orleans

Here is a hand I played tonight. I'm new to the table. SB is a middle aged fella, who comes off as a donk, but no real read, so I played it as though I had no strong read.
I've only played 10-25 no limit a few other times live, and im up pretty good so far at this level. I'm over bankrolled for the limit, but still cutting my teeth.
For the weekend I am up 700 or so playing 20-40 and lower NL. Ive bought into 2 tourneys for 200 and 500 so im dead even going into this hand.

I am in mp2 with 2500 in chips. 10 handed. 10-25 nl holdem.

2 limpers to me, I have J9 of diamonds.
I limp, co (1500) limps, button(3500) limps, sb(2300) completes, bb(3000) checks.

Flop comes 10h Qd Kh

check to me, I bet 100. Folds to button who calls, sb raises 400 more to 500, everone folds to me. I raise it 1000 more to make it 1500 straight.

thoughts so far?

It's not the nut straight (A J) but I like how you bet out with your straight.

The mostly likely hands that the SB would be raising with on the flop are KT, KQ, TT, KJ, or AJ. Its possible that he could have limped in the SB with QQ or KK although unlikely. I think reraising is good to shut out his hands and take down the pot since it's big enough and hey, if he's not very good he may give you his stack with a worse hand.

Regardless of what he has now, you're pretty much pot committed and the rest of your stack is going in somehow since you have no read.

For all the possible hands he could have you're a favorite, and the pot is big enough for you to take it down now.

Was this played at Harrahs? Last time I was there they only had 5/5? or 5/10 PL round by round? Just wondering as I might go to school there next year...

They're spreading bigger games this week because of the WSOP circuit event.

Your plan for the turn if called?

I like telling the dealer "I push blind".

I agree with AJo.

if you arent folding, which clearly you arent for $1k more, a push is more likely to be called by top two or a set.

and hell, it gives him the chance to make an "expert fold" with J9.

button folds, SB pushes. Dealer counts it down and its like 650 more to call, I might have messed up his stack size slightly in first post. I call the 650 he flips up AJ.
I would have called turn, or pushed if checked to.
Would have had to reevaluate on a heart or if the board paired, but probly going all the way with it.

Dude was a complete donk though, and proved it later on in the night. I got smashed this hand.
Anyone see anywhere I might should have escaped gettin all in with the 2nd nut here. 12 ways to make AJ, that hand is quite likely still.

It is VERY likely he would have just called KK or QQ preflop and has a big set here. I think he plays those hands the same obviously.

thanks for the imput

At some point in NL holdem The hand strenght and amount of chips your have can lead to situations where you shouldnt be folding, Its a mistake to fold hands this strong when playing as short stacked as you were (Im not saying that your were making a mistake sometimes these things are regulated with max buy ins). If you both had 5000 when you started I could see getting away from it buts it harder when hes a total fish and its obvious that he sucks, He could have any thing then he just happen to have the nts today tommorow he could have top pair you never know
