46/20 is a little more than 2. [/ QUOTE ] Keep in mind that you see like 35 hands / hour live. (Im not sure of the typical estimate, but I think that is ballpark) [ QUOTE ] His rate I believe was more like 76 or 86 per hour playing 10/20. [/ QUOTE ] $76/hour at 10/20 works out to about 11BB/100, and is absurd. |

27-30 VPIP? That sounds a little high, even as this forum has gotten looser.

for how long? i think 4 is doable. 5 is within reach. 6 is pushing your luck. youd have to be running well for a long long time to keep that bb/100 at 6. its just difficult because even if you have a nice winning session, it may not be good enough and still lower your bb/100.

27-30 VPIP? That sounds a little high [/ QUOTE ] I think I've been running a little good which has my VPIP a little high. It's 30 over the last 12k hands (I thought it was 14k, but it's 12k at .5/1.) Another indication of that is my cold calling which was at 1.2% and I was trying to lower it, is up to 1.5%. Maybe my true winrate is more like 3 than 4, but I still see plenty of room for improvement in my game and think there is considerable upside potential. I don't see 5 or maybe 6 BB/100 as unrealistic. |

[/ QUOTE ]A look at PT tells me my last 12k hands includes downturns of 40, 43, 53, 60, 70, 78, and 81 BB, so it's not like I haven't had any adversity. But I haven't been trying to play when I'm distracted or tired etc. and I think that helps in avoiding major downswings that can put a significant dent in one's winrate. |

Re: 6 BB/100 at .5/1 is Sustainable: True or False?
I believe it is on the high end of sustainable, under the following conditions:
* Single table only * Running PT and GameTime+ (or similar) * "Data Mining" for fish when you aren't playing * Active table selection and table positioning * Playing mostly during "peak" hours (evenings, weekends) Personally, I enjoy the challenge of perfecting my play at this low limit without playing multiple tables or getting antsy to move up limits. This isn't my profession, it's a hobby that I enjoy. Side note: 30 pct is silly high, gotta get that down if you want to keep your 3BB/100! |

46/20 is a little more than 2. His rate I believe was more like 76 or 86 per hour playing 10/20. But yes at .5/1 6BB is sustainable if you use good table selection methods. [/ QUOTE ] There wasn't any online poker rooms back at that time. So his $46/hour was on about 35 hands/hour max. Which is $1.30 per hand. So that's $130 per 100 hands and $130 is 6.5BB/100. But that's canadian dollars so it doesn't mean much anyway... |
