Hi all,
I've been playing online poker for a living for over 5 months now. I live in Canada, so I get to benefit a little from the weak Canadian dollar ($1.26 CDN = $1.00 US). I was wondering if anyone would know of some other (first world) countries that may have weak currencies compared to the US$, where it's relatively cheap to live, and that also have favourable gambling tax laws. Thanks in advance! |

I'm not sure I see how you benefit from this, but if all you're looking for is countries with currency that has a high ratio to the US dollar, tons of Asian countries qualify. Vietnam for example uses Vietnam Dong. Approx 15,800 Dong to 1 US dollar.

And here I was thinking my dong was worth at least 20 bucks US.

if you're thinking of moving, why do you want to live in a "first world" country?
with the cash that will get you an average lifestyle in a "first world" country you can have a filthy rich lifestyle elsewhere |

Beware of the Philippines. Party does not let you sign on from the Philippines. Crypto works.
Beware of Dubai. You cannot access 60% of the internet from Dubai. Instead you get a splash screen that "this site is against the moral values of the United Arab Emirates". You cannot access any Poker site or 2+2 for instance. You can access all the clients though and there is a work around for the other stuff. (I will be better prepared next time...) |

I'm still trying to figure out why someone who has been playing for a living on line a whole 5 MONTHS is considering relocating to the point of possible citizenship changing.

No tax on gambling in the UK. No sunshine either though.

[/ QUOTE ] Maybe he just doesn't like Canada and is using his new profession as part of the basis of where he could move to. I know if I decided to leave my country, but didn't know exactly where I would want to go, I would consider stuff like this. |
