Re: AJ trouble, who ya gonna call?
I'd make it 250-300 and fold to a reraise, unless it's the smaller stack and he's been known to make loose all-in reraises.

Re: AJ trouble, who ya gonna call?
With 5 players left to act and the blinds at 50/100, I would fold. What if someone calls you and then an Ace hits on the flop? What are you going to do then? Make a 3/4 pot bet and fold to a reraise? Now you're out 500 chips or so, and the flop actually hit your hand.
If I was the SB or Button, I would bet 250. If the blinds were 100/200 or higher, I would probably push from your position--I would certainly push if I was CO, Button, or SB. |

Re: AJ trouble, who ya gonna call?
I respectfully disagree. I think AJs just has too much value to throw away in this situation. Of course you are in trouble against a bigger ace (unless you get diamonds), but the blinds are big enough to take the risk of a steal. If the players yet to act hold AK I think they will re-pop you preflop, and you can safely lay it down, which reduces your risk.
You can't play too scared at this point in the game. |

Re: AJ trouble, who ya gonna call?
I dont see the need here to risk a significant portion of your stack with a hand which is easily dominated when you've basically got everybody left to act including a limper UTG. Best case scenario you steal 250 chips, which isnt huge at this stage given you already have a dominant stack. More often if you call/raise you will end up in a tough spot. I fold and wait for a better opportunity.

If you are worried because of all the action that will be happening behind you, then just raise 2.5 BB; that should get the junk to fold and give you a sense of where you are. I really want to see a flop with this hand... |
