My main concern was the river. Should I have check/called, rather then bet out?

Without a read I think I'd play it the same. I think BB's raising on the turn makes a flush draw less likely, and something like A5 more likely.

My question here is the turn, what is he holding that scares you when the 8 comes out? He was raising the flop, which you 3 bet and he called. He wakes up on the turn when the 8 comes out. He then raises your bet. Unless he has pocket 8 or 5, you are ok here. Hey may hold A5 or A8, but you've got that beat. Plus, you now have a flush draw. I probably would have 3-bet again here, but that may be chip spewing (any thoughts?)
