Default If I had a billion dollars, I wouldn\'t give it to my kids.

Do you see why?

I do see why, and disagree.

Well Bill Gates has a hundred billion or so and is only leaving 10 million to his daughter.

Perhaps his reasoning is that no person needs that much, so why not give the rest to others who need it more? I mean leaving ten million is certainly taking care of his own plenty good.

We are all dying to know your reasoning: please post. Let's hope it's just not some joke response like "because I'd spend it all hookers and drugs instead!"

I agree - if I had a billion dollars, I wouldn't give it to your kids either.

Hewlett (or Packard, don't remember which) left "only" a few million out of a multi-billion dollar estate to each child. The reasoning was that he wanted to leave them enough that they could do anything they wanted in life, but not so much that they could do nothing. Pretty smart.
