Suddenly you turn 18 and are now a rapist because your birthdays are off by a few months? It's pretty silly. If you're 19 and she's 14, I don't know if I have a problem with it. Usually it doesn't work that way. First of all most places are 16, not 18 (at least in NJ) and second of all, if you are within 4 years (i.e., 18 and 15 is ok but 19 and 15 is not) then it doesn't matter. So 15 and 16 is still legal...

"Most" places it is either 17 or 18, not 16. As for this 4 year thing, I've never heard of syuch a thing and I'm guessing it's another weird NJ thing, or else you just made it up. Aside from NJ, which apparently has it's own weird Louisiana-ish legal things going on, you're definitely an idiot if you're 18 and banging a 15 year old.

With all that said, why is it that we have these standards. I'm not arguing right or wrong. But I've always thought it was interesting that in most other cultures, it's very normal for younger women to have relationships/marry older men.
