If data-mining becomes a big problem then online poker sites can fix this easy by letting people change their handle every session(if they player wanted). Programs like PT could still be used to analyze your own game but not to map out other players for more than one session.

you miss the point. the rec player wants it to be like brick and morter. without them there is no game.

I use Poker Tracker and man, it's a great tool to use. I do however agree that it is a threat to the game. I like your post. (No sarcasm here either)
