Yes, but I'll still be there most of the day. I'll only be on the broadcast on Saturday.

W.C. Fields said, "Never wise up a chump." What did HE know?

I don't know how many times I've heard or read a comment to the effect, "Well, if call on the turn, then you're putting him on a bluff, so if the board doesn't change, it is inconsistent not to call on the river too."

From a game theoretic perspective, that's dead wrong. In fact, the player who bluffs once is not obligated to keep bluffing, and not only is the player who calls once not obligated to keep calling, but it is an big exploitable leak if he always does.

Assume you have a "bluff-catcher" hand and call a pot size bet on the turn. A brick hits the table. Theoretically, how often should you call a pot size bet on the river? Answer: 50 percent. If you don't understand that, you need to repeat Game Theory 101. If you call more than 50%, it is a leak that the other player can exploit by bluffing on the river less than 1/2 as often as he value-bets.

Another way of putting it is, "If you aren't going to call on the river, you shouldn't call on the turn." That's dead wrong too.

That's a pretty good explanation. The "and if you don't understand that..." is unnecessary but I like the post. Heh.

Jonas is annoying.

I HATE when players talk poker strategy at a table. 90% of the players don't care and don't want to hear it.

Is it me or do the majority of the tools who discuss strategy and berate players at the table seem like guys who got beat up when they were kids and now that they know how to play poker they are getting back at the world.

I have requested that L@TB not use the board camera as the cards are coming out. The graphic at the bottom comes up plenty quick enough. The cut to the board camera makes it impossible to see players' reactions to the flop when THEY are watching the cards come out.

I hope that suggestion is working its way through the system.
