I know this is .5/1 but this is extremely embarresing and utterly frustrating.

One thing I found during downswings is that I end up paying raises off too much. I can't remember the last time I got checkraised on the river and won without the (near) nuts. Stop paying off river and turn checkraises made by solid players. Every time you pay off one of these, it's 1 BB. Do this 5 times in 100 hands, and your winrate for those 100 hands just decreased by 5.

[/ QUOTE ]

Which is what I tell myself when I get CR'd and call with my 2 pair to the runner runner flush.

Excellent advice btw...

[/ QUOTE ]

so that's 5BB. Now the next one you call with your two pair to his bluff and you win 15BB, now you're up 13BB for 501 hands.

Ya don't fold for one more with a made hand like two pair in a 15BB pot.

Can you beat this??

1600 hands played this month. Down 102 BB.

[/ QUOTE ]

Took a shot at $0.25/$0.50 with about 150BB ground out of the Pacific nickel/dime tables. Worked it up to 250BB over a decent number of hands.

Then, over the past 500 hands or so, I've dropped 150BB. The tables seem pretty soft (the vast majority of my opponents have >60 VPIP), so I have 50 bucks left for things to turn around before I accept that I'm just awful at poker and walk away.

Man, I hate downswing contests. No matter who wins it, we all still lose.

Everybody in this forum has probably experienced at least one ~100 BB downswing, even at .5/1. I've had three (still clawing my way back from the third). Don't sweat it.

I find that hanging out in the forum and responding to threads helps keep my game on keel.

Wow. How I long for the days when I'd be down 100BB over several days. I went down 60BB just yesterday morning, working on clearing the Empire bonus (and, no, they didn't impound my account).

Of course, yesterday afternoon and today I bounced back and now sit 30BB up.

OP, you've been here for a month and a half, and your subject line clearly demonstrates that you know what you're going to get with a post like this, so...NUT UP, STOP WHINING, AND KEEP PLAYING. It'll either come back or you're a terrible poker player and nobody loves you; either way, having people pat you on the head and tell you it's going to be ok isn't going to change the situation at all.

Actually, the answer to this one is, "Ssssssshhhhhhh!" As in, "Be quiet, you know what's coming so just go to a dark room and flame yourself, ok?"

500 hands, -101 BB session at 5/10 6m. CRY FOR ME! (ps: this is old you already know this I didn't do it again, yet).
(pps: playing 10/20 5 handed on pokerstars is not the way to make it back, oh wait it kinda was)

Let the good times roll I am getting killed by LPP's (not fish, not PC). I am down 66BB in the past 4 days and i think that is about 400 hands or so. This sucks!! I was on a 350BB streak before that... thought I was invincible.. probably going to hang it up for a few days after tonight.

All of this talk about 100BB downswings drug me into one. I am down 80 over about 500 hands.. I want to strangle the LPP's.

Acidentally deposited $50 (instead of $500) so my bonus was only $15, even after I deposited $450 more.

For future reference, when you do this email Party support and they will usually give you the bonus.
