Default Poker Academy Hand History Converter

I made a small program that converts Poker Academy log files to PartyPoker hand histories. Thus, Poker Tracker can now import the hands played and simulated from PA.

Poker Academy Converter (196 KB)

The directions on how to use the PAConverter are in the "Readme.txt". But if you just want quickly convert some hands, click the bottom "Browse" button, type in a filename, and click "Convert".

Watch out if you have a lot of hands logged. My program converts the hands a heckuva lot faster than PT can import them. Plus PT gets bogged down if you try to import one huge file. It's best to have no more than 300 hands per file, so use the file splitting options.

Anyway, if you have any questions you can post here or send me an email. Check my profile for my email address.

Default Re: Poker Academy Hand History Converter

I want to give this a little attention.

If you are interested in doing computer simulations beyond matchups of hands and seeing the equity (pokerstove and poker calculator), I think the combination of these two programs is the best way to go about it. If there is any kind of simulation that Wilson software or any other program can do that Poker Academy can't then let the Poki people know. They seem to be pretty receptive to suggestions to improve their software. The only disadvantage I see is that Poki is slower than Wilson in running through a simulation and this is probably due to the AI.

Anyway this utility works great and really makes up for Poker Academy's statistics, which was the weakest part of their program.

Thank you Caeddyn.

regards,

raisins

Default Re: Poker Academy Hand History Converter

Thank you so much for the Poker Academy hand converter.
I'm thrilled to have it.

(If you have an easy way for me to pay you $20...
PM me with the details).

Here are the stats for a full $10/$20 table that I use for limit practice...
9 identical Poki Bots set to play tough... and me.

After this 8 hour series of games and about 1070 hands...
You can see we are playing 133 hands/hour...
But that includes lots of breaks by me.

(Though some of the hands counts don't appear to reconcile).

All the Poki Bots are set identical...
And check out how tight the stat ranges are:
18.7 to 22.4 for VP$IP...
7.5 to 9.2 for PreFlopRaise.

But see the HUGE variation in BB/hour among the Bots...
From -15.7 to +11.6 for identical Bots...
With the same very tight stat ranges.

That's what troubles me about poker.
The 1% profit margin and large variance in profit.

It creates so much uncertainty and instability.
You see it here all the time.

I'm a professional trader...
And I make money 80% of trading days...
And 90% of trading months.

When I look at online poker winnings variance...
It does not look like an attractive way to live...
Relative to the stock market.

Anyway...
My stats are the odd one out.
This is from March...
And I had not yet realized that aggression must be much higher.
