Default APMs : The future of card rooms, no tipping, same rake!

Yes, the future is here.. More table space.. No more annoying dealers!

APMs are Automatic Poker Machines - they shuffle, deal, and make intellegent decisons based on numerous programs and the interaction they have with APM operators and cardroom managers. Etc. They don't take up an entire seat, and automatically make change to the pot and deposit the rake - No mistakes - No cheating - Cheaper to casinos (no benefits, no days off, no dealer errors)
Eventually these APMs will be popping up at cardrooms near you - Atlantic City & Las Vegas included...

Reaction to this fiction?

Think of ALL the positives of this device...... I personally can not think of many negatives. For those negatives, such as newbies start playing asking the dealer how to act in turn? there can be computerized lessons for newbies 5 minutes long right before they start playing, etc etc.. everything can be compenstated for. the rest? all benefits

Every time these posts come up everyone here states how much they hate the idea. Basically, why bother going to a card room when you can get the same effect (plus lower rake) by playing online? There's a reason casinos still have BJ dealers when they could have gone to computers a long time ago.

I would love this... but who would supervise? Someones gotta be watching to make sure everything goes down allright. as far as comparing it to online... I think the fish will still be more B&M than live, as I doubt a lot of the older ones even use computers very often

Some people actually like the interaction with the dealers and the shuffle and feel of real cards and chips. Other people cant fathom the thought of unplugging from their computer and interacting with reality.
