ummm...who's Abdul? and what is this "guide"?

[/ QUOTE ]

He plays very goot and has some very interesting articles/theories out. His basic PF guide is pretty well known, but he has tons of good SH stuff (my secret! ) and some posts in a forum long ago about playing flush draws and such that are totally awesome (I can't seem to find them though).

not at any micro table that isn't 2+2. save this one for the tougher games where they won't just call your raise cold, with dominated crap

I believe the article Shillx is referring to is Abdul's "Theory of Sucking Out". Unfortunately, the site that contained this article (posev.com) appears to be dead. I discovered Abdul before I discovered 2+2 and my earliest days of LLHE were played by (mis)applying Abdul's advice. Another name that often comes up with Abdul is Izmet Fekali, whose articles on beating loose games full of bad players (ram & jam) were the best available pre-SSH. You can check out Izmet's articles at his site, Playing With the Fish.

You can find some of Abdul's work (including the famous preflop guide, and the infamous Theory of Sucking Out) here:

I had saved most of the material he had on his site as a .doc (similar to mmbt0ne's microlimit collection). If anyone would like to read it.

disclaimer: I don't know anything about copywrite (his are all there) to know whether it's kosher to distribute, or if he'd even mind...

If it is possible in limit holdem, it should be done in limit holdem. If you have one type of bet that you will never make then you are too easy to play against. You are voluntarily limiting your set of possible actions which means that your opponents can take advantage. In other words, by knowing that you will never limp/re-raise they have more information about your hand when you limp than you have when they limp. It is like giving them a little hint about your hand in the chat box. Therefore, it is a bad idea to never limp/re-raise. Therefore, limp/re-raising is useful in some situations. Therefore, you are wrong.
