Hand 1: You have 5-6BB, just push. You're in an ugly spot, but raising half your stack doesn't really make much sense because everyone SHOULD know you are committed to the pot.

Hand 2: I am assuming you pushed preflop. If you didn't push preflop you made a mistake, if you did, then you played it fine.

ok i edited it a bit. but on the second hand i did go all in on the BB when 3 people limped. i think that was the correct play considering my chip stack.

Hi, the first hand I would move allin preflop. I understand that a stop and go may buy you some folding equity postflop, but I think they will call preflop a lot more often when you make it just 450. I don't want to play so fancy and then see some guy call with a hand they would have folded had I just moved allin.

Could someone explain how hand 1 is a stop and go?

Instead of simply pushing all his chips in, he put half in first. He was going to get the rest of his money in on the flop no matter what comes out, giving himself two tries to get the guy to fold.
Still, people will hit the flop a high percentage of the time, so people who hit anything will call. I prefer just pushing all in preflop.

I dont see where the stop part comes in- it was more of a slow and go, and considering his flop bet was larger than his preflop bet, more of a go and slow. IMO, lucky that the move, whatever it was, came off. It was more like betting a scare card than anything else.

hey, a stop and go is when you put in half your stack preflop and throw the rest in on the flop...

if you have 10BB and you put in 3-4BB preflop is it still considered a stop n go if you put in 6-7BB on the flop?
