I have played a few sessions with BB(~300 hands) and he's 45/12/.96 loves to bluff and can't let go of a decent hand. MP1 is new to the table so I didn't have any stats at the time.
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (8 handed) converter Button ($10.70) SB ($14.45) BB ($28.65) UTG ($3.45) UTG+1 ($21.55) MP1 ($28.95) Hero ($42) CO ($24.10) Preflop: Hero is MP2 with K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. 1 fold, UTG+1 calls $0.25, MP1 calls $0.25, Hero raises to $1.5, 2 folds, SB calls $1.40, BB calls $1.25, UTG+1 calls $1.25, MP1 calls $1.25. Turn: ($27.50) T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (4 players) BB checks, UTG+1 checks, MP1 checks, Hero bets $5, BB raises to $15, UTG+1 folds, MP1 calls $15, Hero folds. Final Pot: $76.80 My question is about the turn. I'm 90% sure I'm ahead of BB on the flop, I'm not so sure about MP1. On the turn I make a weak bet knowing BB will raise if he has anything, I'm hoping MP1 folds and I can push against BB. When MP1 calls I can't put him on a hand I can beat so I fold, is this too weak? |

I think you bet 20 on the turn and try to get it all in. I think a someone with TT or other set would have reraised on the flop. I think the river is a killer but on the turn i would try to get it in or take it down there and 5$ isn't doing the latter.

dude, what's with the $5 turn bet? you might as well have checked behind (which wouldn't have been bad).
also, you have to raise it much higher on the flop...to $10 at least. |

The weakish bet on the turn was meant to induce a reraise from BB which would pot-commit him so I could push. What I couldn't figure out is what hand MP could call my pf raise, flop reraise, and a turn check raise from the BB with that I could beat. I agree a larger flop raise would have been better, might have gotten MP out or defined his hand better.

Nobody for betting more on the flop? Your bet was a weak one that is prone to set off a chain reaction of callers.

I agree with Skeme, I think you should raise the flop more. Any A has a gutshot, there is a diamond draw--make a real pot-sized raise here, esp. with so many people in the hand. If you do this, I think you would have an easier turn decision.

My thoughts exactly. As I read the hand the first thing I thought is raise more on flop. You need to be able to get a read of where you are at or you will be lost the rest of the hand. I used to make these weak raises too often b/c I didn't want everyone to fold but this is a mistake.
