From the recent stuff or from before they started this?

I called the number and some indian dude sayed to call back in an hr! WTF? Did I really get my account frozen, told to call to clear some security BS and then get told to call back in an hour? What a joke. You'd think this wasn't a multi-billion dollar industry.

From the recent account closures. I thought I'd diminish my risk at empire. They froze my account. I promptly cashed out from all the other skins and still emailing back and forth vip@empirepoker.com and calling them on the phone every couple of hours. I can't divulge any more details for my own sake. There has never been any wrong doing on the accounts.

someone may have hit on this but I do find the fact that this is coupled with a software upgrade a little unnerving.

Maybe they will use the money they save to fix their VIP system.

[/ QUOTE ]

What exactly is wrong with their VIP system?

[/ QUOTE ]

It grossly overvalues the rake from sng's while undervaluing the rake from ring games. You get sqrt(raked_ring_games_hands_played) points every 24 hours, while you get rake_paid points with no diminishing return for tournament play.

Not that the points are worth more than a fart in space, so it doesn't really matter how fast you (don't) accumulate them.

I do not want to say what my account balance was but for me it is a signifigant amount of money and represents many hours of time spent to make extra money for my household.

You believe everything you read on the internet - don't you?

BTW - That type of vague BS response is a good sign he didn't lose more than $1.

Has anybody had their account frozen who:

1. Kept > $1 in their account during non-bonus periods and/or

2 Played occasionally at Empire during non-bonus periods?

Having followed this thread, that seems to be the common denominator everyone was looking for.

Well looks like I am not going to go for Empires bonus this month. I was going to sign on with Eurobet with rakeback but now I am worried about that also.

The key question is the one not being answered. How many of the banned people had more than one account at Empire? I have an account at Party and Empire and have no problems. Rumor has it that the new software upgrade has security measures to scan for IP's as well as MAC addresses. The sites are aware that people use multiple ID's and are constantly looking for ways to stop this.

If you were banned and you truly have one account at Empire, were you using a bot or re-routing your IP through a third party server? Are you using a virtual machine that broadcasts a fake MAC? I am fairly certain that the suspicious activity involves multiple ID's or the inability of the site to determine a true ID due to concealment methods. If this is the case, consider Empire a trial run with Party following suit soon.
