I would never try to "isolate" with an Ace-rag. The hand is just not that strong.

[/ QUOTE ]
I would. I've 3-bet with Kx before. But I agree this isn't a good time for it.

Very unlikely. I think this hand is an easy muck. I was just trying to point out that "Never" isolating with Ax is likely missing out on some good, profitable opportunities. Never is a very strong word. Certaily there are situations where it's fine.

After looking at the postflop action I'd be embarrassed to post this hand.

Oh, please. What's with that attitude? The postflop action is not that bad and the preflop action isn't that bad, either, IMO. I may be a goon but I've isolation 3-bet with worse depending on context.

How would you have played this postflop? I may be way off base but I would have played it the same. After the flop 3-bet I think it's clear we're not going to get a free card on the turn so capping would have been spewing. The turn and river play themselves.

Muck this PF. Villian would have to have PFR of over 20% and have less PFA for me to start isolating him with what is essentially a bluffing hand.

I play the post flop exactly like you did.

A3 is a dominated hand that plays well against a large field and weakly heads up. 13 PFR isn't the kind where I go crazy. Your best hope is that he has something like KQ in which case you have a slight edge preflop. Fold and wait for a better spot.

Fold preflop.

The rest of the hand is standard.
