GK,

If you are at the Taj Sat. night u will probably see me in a 10-20 or 5-10 hold em game. At the Trop LATE Sat/early Sunday, I should be playing the pink game. I'm the young kid in the button down shirt who is prob bitching about a long bus ride. GL, have fun.

Curious about your source for this.

According to the website for the Press of Atlantic City:

Taxis. Atlantic City taxis charge a flat-rate of $6 to go anywhere in the city, with an extra $2 charge for the Marina district.

And I was charged $6 the once I've taken a cab in AC.

I suppose it's possible different cab companies have different fee structures.

Liz -
My source for this was very simple.
I took a ride in a cab this weekend (beautiful by the way) and saw the exact infomation in the cab on the outside and in the inside.

The cabbie informed me that last fall the City of AC raise the maximum fare from $6 to $8.

All taxis have the same fare structure for ACity.

Also the Press link might be out of date.

Completely unrelated to topic, but is it possible to get a room at the Taj on a Saturday night if you are a poker player 20-40,30-60. 50-100 on occassion. No trouble on rooms Sunday thru Friday. Any hints or help would be appreciated. Boris,Freddie etc seem to get rooms on Saturdays. Thanks for any help

If you play higher limit games as you seem to, it is possible but very difficult (esp. during the summer). You must book it WEEKS in advance. Call 1-800-72-Poker, 9-5 M-F and be like I need a poker rate room 3 Sats. from now, I play 20-40, 30-60. Then they'll check ur card number to make sure and if there is a room to be had u will get it.

This thread goes back to the top of the B&M Forum...

Tropicana has discontinued its Bad Beat Jackpot as of Friday (4/4)!

Rumour has it they will be replacing it with a Car - I don't know the exact details yet but it might be a lottery based on how much time you've racked up on your Poker Card...

Why would they do this? Won't this take business away from the poker room? I wonder if they are planning to close the room, given that the Borgata opening is only two months away.
