Default So, Tell me how the Economy is doing

So I had a short paper due this morning that I forgot about. I'd like to turn something in later today. Can anyone tell me how the following are doing...

- Real GDP
- Unemployment
- Inflation
- Interest rate
- Productivity
- Gov't budget deficit
- Foreign trade

... Any help, even one word answers, would be greatly appreciated. 'Stosh

- Real GDP

[/ QUOTE ]

Not sure, haven't seen the numbers lately.

[ QUOTE ]

- Unemployment

[/ QUOTE ]

VERY low.

[ QUOTE ]

- Inflation

[/ QUOTE ]

Still basically 0, but apparently is showing some signs it might increase which is worrying some on Wall Street.

[ QUOTE ]

- Interest rate

[/ QUOTE ]

Rising, but still VERY low when looked at in historical perspectives.

[ QUOTE ]

- Productivity

[/ QUOTE ]

High, if I remember correctly.

[ QUOTE ]

- Gov't budget deficit

[/ QUOTE ]

Just about record high. However, not sure if its anywhere near the historical highs. (when adjusted to inflation)

[ QUOTE ]

- Foreign trade

[/ QUOTE ]

Terrible. Record (both real and historical) deficits.

- Real GDP

[/ QUOTE ]

Up 3.1% unrevised last quarter

[ QUOTE ]

5.2%

[ QUOTE ]

[/ QUOTE ]

About 3% I believe.

[ QUOTE ]
- Interest rate

[/ QUOTE ]

What interest rates? Yield curve is flat basically. The spread between 2 yr treasurys and 10 year treasurys is around 50 basis points. Long term interest rates are low historically.

[ QUOTE ]
- Productivity

[/ QUOTE ]

Don't remember the exact number www.bls.gov will have it and lot of other stats. Productivity is high though.

[ QUOTE ]
- Gov't budget deficit

[/ QUOTE ]

Smaller than projected. A report came out yesterday that tax revenues were 20% higher than expected and that the government has actually payed down on the debt during the last 3 months I believe which means that net the amount of the total debt owed decreased.

[ QUOTE ]
- Foreign trade

[/ QUOTE ]

Negative. The trade defecit in absolute terms is at record highs. Imports much greater than exports.

Thank you both very, very much. That should be plenty enough to complete the assignment. I am an idiot for forgetting about it, but my prof hadn't mentioned it in over a month. 'Stosh

This is national, mind you.
GDP: 3.1 in Q1 of 2005
Unemployment: 5.2%
Inflation: 3.15%
Interest: 2.5-3% (Not exactly sure)
Productivity: 3.6 (I think)
Deficit: $390B
Not sure what you're looking for as far as trade...

Hope that helps. Remember: google=god

Wouldn't you need to sorta back up those figures you're gonna give?? Are you just gonna copy what Adios gave you? No sources or anything? Do a web search for pete's sakes.

But this maybe your Economics class. Then it's alright, you're on your way.
