Advice for dealing with Calling Stations?
No reads as I just sat down. I figured I was killing any pot odds he had at each juncture. Yet he kept drawing. At what point do you jus throw up your hands and say, I can't stop them from drawing on me?
I realize it's not a great hand preflop, but it's the strongest one once the flop hits. Help me figure out how to beat a calling station sucking out on me. Thanks. Re: Advice for dealing with Calling Stations?
You really need to understand why it's a good thing that he's calling you with improper odds.

He has crappy odds and he's still calling! Yay!" Poker will be much less frustrating when you figure out why calling stations are the best kind of opponent to have. When they stop calling me on draws with bad odds, I'll have to learn darts or something. poker will be over. |

Re: Advice for dealing with Calling Stations?
If I think my q is good, I bet more on the turn. Full pot against a calling station. If I am uncertain, I'll go into check/call or check/fold mode.

Re: Advice for dealing with Calling Stations?
I understand it's a good thing. Just not when they hit. He caught his ten on the river.
Would you have done anything differently? |
