Hi Beavis:

I thought the Omaha Eight or Better section was much better than decent. But I'm a little biased since I'm the one who introduced Mark Gregorich to Bobby Baldwin so that he could work with him on this chapter.

I do agree with your other comments except I dont think the writing "sucks" in all the chapters.

Best wishes,

Mason

Well, to elaborate, I thought the O8b chapter was one of the best in the book, top 3.

I really felt is was Gregorich's chapter, I may be wrong, but it seemed like it. One of the few with advanced plays, but afte PPLP, Championship Omaha, and Zee's book, I felt it added little.

By "sucks" none of the sections made me want to keep reading like PPLP, the Championship books I have, SSH and HoH Vol I did. It was more like reading a text book.

DUH! 6_89T_Q

Do they call it a triple belly buster after the jack comes off and you get shown KQ for all your money?

If you had to make a choice and buy either SS1 or SS2, which one would it be? (or do you have to have both?)

Thx

Ps. maybe considering you play mostly NLHE and Omaha (both high and high/low)

The only reason to get the first book is for the 7 card stud section. For your interests, get SS2.

Mark Gregorich's section on O8 is far and away the best content in this book.

Best,

Yeah. But the point of the double gutter discussion was to say how great they are because they are so deceptive when they hit. When the flop comes 89T and then you make your one card straight, that is hardly well-concealed.
