Re: how many busted out of the WSOP on the \"first\" day last year?
I think they are looking at trimming the field by about that same amount on the first day this year too.
2200 max on each of the first 3 days. I think they only want 2200 total for the day 2 (first combined day) meaning that each day would be trimmed to 730 or so. I thought I remembered someone posting info on this somewhere around here. I would be surprised if it was set up for more than half to make it to day 2. |

Re: how many busted out of the WSOP on the \"first\" day last year?
if you look at the chart from the WSoP site:
http://www.worldseriesofpoker.com each of the three starting heats (between 1,000 and 2200), will be thinned to between 500 and 650. thus, if entries are on the low side ~3,000, (1,000/heat) & 500/heat advance to day 2-it's a 50% reduction i.e. 1,500 eliminated between the three starting heats. if entries cap out ~6600, (2,200/heat) & 650/heat advance to day 2-it's a 70% reduction i.e. 4,650 eliminated between the three starting heats. aces, doc |
