Re: QQ utg in stars rebuy
check raise the flop, and fold if he re-raises.
If he just calls the raise on the flop, then play with caution from there. If he checks through on the flop, then bet the hand with confidence. The only hand i see him checking behind which you should be afraid of is AKs with the flush draw, or top set, and even top set is pretty risky to check behind, so a solid player would most likely bet it. The main point in my opinion is that you have enough chips, and can probably find better spots to win some chips. I think you need to protect your stack here though, especially since you were re-raised PF. Ajizzle |

Re: QQ utg in stars rebuy
Any way to get away from this hand without going broke? In my experience lots of bad players make this min raise preflop with AA/KK.

Re: QQ utg in stars rebuy
With the size of his stack I play for his whole stack on this flop and let him show me his AA's. Even if you lose here you're not hurting in any way.
To fold on this flop would be extremely weak/tight. You may as well have folded PF and any bet gives you odds to call his push. I put him all in and if I'm beat then so be it but he can just as well have AK/AQ/AJ/TT's here. I've seen a lot worse reraise with hands that don't beat QQ's. |

Re: QQ utg in stars rebuy
You can't go broke on this hand, you have better than double his stack. Zero reason to worry about AA/KK in this situation, especially during the rebuy period, if he's got it pay him with your queens. I only like your line against a bigger stack. I would have reraised him to 2000 preflop and called his push.
As played, I'd raise the flop 1500 and hope he pushes. |

Re: QQ utg in stars rebuy
Given the stack sizes, I think I would have bullied him into letting me double him up pre-flop.
If you really believe he has AA/KK (hence the call?) then check/folding here isn't terrible. You seem to have a strong read. You may need to dunk your head in a bucket of icewater afterward. |

check raise the flop, and fold if he re-raises. [/ QUOTE ] Assuming he makes a 1/2 pot bet of 1000 here, any checkraise from you would have to put him allin. |

[/ QUOTE ] You don't have to put him on AA/KK to just call here. You can just call to make sure the flop is raggy so you can get all the chips in on a safe flop and save some chips if it looks ugly. Of course, this is a spot where I like playing live better, because it's easier to see if he likes the flop or not i.e. he re-raised you with JJ and he's just following through w/ an A on board b/c you checked. It would be pretty tough to check fold this flop. Gavin |
