1. Daniel didn't mention a qualifier. I suspected it was an oversight but wasn't sure. Hi-Lo without a qualifier is still sometimes played and it is the game my chapter is about in Doyle's first book. I believe it is the best poker chapter ever written and so do many others. So I thought Daniel might like the idea of playing the guy who even Doyle considers the authority on the subject.

[/ QUOTE ]

Jees, don't be so humble. Having read several of your books, I hold you in high esteem for teaching me some finer points about various forms of poker, as I am sure many others do also. But some of your recent comments are outrageous; bordering on arrogant in the extreme. Maybe this is a longtime trend that I simply hadn't noted. If that is simply who you are, then kudos to you for being comfortable with your flaws as a human being.

Of course, I can only hope to do ONE thing in my life that I will fee even remotely comfortable characterizing as the BEST EVER. Maybe I don't give myself enough credit.

When you are right you're right. It is entirely possible that the best poker chapter ever is "Head Up on the End". Others would argue that it is "The Eight Mistakes In Poker". I don't know what got into me.

I think that phrase needs a few qualifiers.

OK, so it's 100 ante, 300 bring-in, 1000-2000. That seems pretty standard, though I haven't yet played 1000-2000, so I'm not sure what the most common structure is.

More importantly, how much are you going to lay me to play one of these games against you?

Later, Greg Raymer (FossilMan)

Assuming the blinds were a "reasonable" size (i.e., the freezout isn't going to last ten years), I could train a monkey to beat Daniel at just about any game more often than one time in eleven. Saying he'd lay 10-to-1 against David just tells me that he's ignorant.

[/ QUOTE ]

I think he meant +110 not 10 to 1.

You're right. My bad.. nevermind.

A poker playing monkey...hmmm...there would be no end to the Party Poker is rigged threads then...first the bots, next online monkeys that could multi-table...
