Default 2/5 hand at turning stone

Setting Turning Stone Casino $2/5 blinds 300 max buy in.

Folded to hero on button ($750) with J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] makes it $20 to go.
BB($400) calls

the villian in this hand has not been in the table very long and has only been in one hand which he won with a raise preflop and with a big bet on the flop.

flop($42) J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

Villian checks Hero checks. (Do you agree with the check behind?)

Turn($42) 4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Villian bets $15 Hero raise to $50 villain calls

River($142) 8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Villian bets $75 Hero calls

Villian shows A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

MHIG but I think I left a lot of money on the table here. What do you think I could have done differently to have gotton the Villians stack?

So you would always bet the flop here?

I have no reason to suspect he has a hand as good as the one he holds, and I checked behind to give him a chance to catch up on a minimal draw board. In hindsite it is easy to see a flop bet would likely get c/r and then all the money would likely go in by the turn.

it is too fishy for a preflop raiser to check behind on the flop when in position heads up.

matter of fact, it looks like villian probably picked up on it as well.
