Re: Cold call raise - aggressive on tough board
I'm iffy on the cold call. It's probably a fold. Risk of domination is just too high.
I hate the flop raise. Bet the river. What did the 9 change? |

Re: Cold call raise - aggressive on tough board
[ QUOTE ]
I put him on a pocket pair no higher than JJ [/ QUOTE ] That's quite the exact read for 45 hands. Even if that was your read, though, raising the flop is pretty bad. Rob |

Re: Cold call raise - aggressive on tough board
I cold call here pf in what looks to be a multiway pot. Raising here pf is also a good option.
I hate the flop raise w/nothing except back door draws. It is very possible he doesn't have an A, but I think I would wait for the turn to raise if I hit my K or Q. Checked to on the rvr I would bet, if he bet into me on the river I would call. As the hand was played I would expect him to have a pp 99 - QQ. |

Re: Cold call raise - aggressive on tough board
if he is a LAG, putting him on such a tight hand read for simply raising preflop is a bit too restrictive, especially with the hand sample.
preflop: reraise to get HU and even if you get called, you have a strong hand. from there it might play different.. flop: #1 you're in trouble if he has the Ace, #2 you're in trouble if SB or UTG has the Ace and went for the c/r. i'd just call and see if either the BDFD or BDSD get help on the turn or either K or Q comes in. turn: obviously play differently if we play preflop and flop differently, but i'm betting if checked to, calling if bet into because i have a showdown hand, but i don't want to pay a lot if he has KK, AK, or AA. and if he is a LAG, he may 3-bet and that doesn't give us any information. river: the way it was played, bet. he doesn't seem to fold at the chance you have trip Aces or a pair of Kings, so it seems he's calling down regardless and he hasn't played as a LAG to indicate your behind. |
