Default Uni-browsing sux...IE help needed

My Internet Explorer has been acting up lately. For some reason I can no longer open more than 1 window at a time. If I click on a link to "Open in New Window" my original page will close as soon as the other opens. I ran my spyware and virus software and came up empty. Any thoughts on how to fix this? Is there a setting I can change somewhere?

What they said, Firefox allows yo to open multiple windows, or better yet, open tabbed windows in the main window.

Yahoo Companion (installed with the new Adobe Reader, Yahoo Messenger, Yahoo Toolbar, etc) has been blamed for this. Whether you think it's been installed or not, check your add/remove programs.

If that's not it, I don't have any other suggestions.

1. Download and install Firefox. People aren't just being unhelpful dicks by suggesting this. I don't think I've had a single pop-up since installing it months ago.

2. If that's not an option, try downloading and re-installing IE.
