Comparison of Bellagio and Borgata ?
How does the Bellagio compare to the Borgata overall as a casino/luxury resort. Both are Wynn productions right ?

Re: Comparison of Bellagio and Borgata ?
I went to Borgata the second weekend they were open (July 2003). I've been to Bellagio many times over the years.
They were both very similar IMO. The neutral colors, the upscale less "casino-y" feel. Felicia www.felicialee.net |

Re: Comparison of Bellagio and Borgata ?
i agree with felicia, both are very nice and similiar. i think the bellagio's poker room is a bit nicer, however a new room is on the way for the borgata. i normally play at the borg. 2 or 3 times a month.(I'm 6 hours away).
BTW, nice blogs Felicia |

Re: Comparison of Bellagio and Borgata ?
Yes, Bellagio is Wynn's concept, but he sold it, Mirage and Treasure Island to Kerkorian's MGM Mirage Corp. years ago.
I'm not sure of the details, but there is some sort of ownership split of Borgata between MGM Mirage and Boyd Gaming, but Boyd manages the place. So, as far as I know, Wynn never has had an interest in the Borg. Since Bellagio's poker room just reopened after renovations, it's unfair to make a comparison at present because I have yet to play there. As far as the resorts on the whole though, it's really apples and oranges. Borgata: delicious granny smith. Bellagio: Italian blood orange, covered in Belgian chocolate and doused with Grand Marnier. |

Re: Comparison of Bellagio and Borgata ?
I was at Borgata last week, haven't been to Bellagio in about a year--overall, the latter struck me as much more elegant. On the other hand, with the possible exception of the Tropicana, Borgata was light years ahead of the other casinos I went to in AC.

Re: Comparison of Bellagio and Borgata ?
The land where the Borgata is was going to be a Wynn property, but then MGM bought him out. MGM Mirage supposedly will eventually build a casino on the land next to Borgata.
MGM Mirage and Boyd each have a 50% stake in the casino, but Boyd manages, I believe. |
