Default \"If we all do it, I\'ll do it.\"

[ QUOTE ]
Michael Moore has called for more marginal tax rates up to and including 70%. With such a draconian proposal for change in the tax system I think it's only fair to question what Michael Moore does with his money. I suspect that Michael Moore's charitable contributions would be an embarassment to him.

[/ QUOTE ]

I do not see a contrdiction in demanding that everyone shares and not sharing until everyone does. The latter can happen realistically only by law.

I will drive slowly in a dangerous road even if there is no speed limit -- on account of my self interest. But I will generally obey the speed limits in a non-dangerous looking road when the limits are imposed by law, even if I don't see immediately "what's in it for me".

Haha there's nothing stopping Michael Moore from donating 70% of his income over the threshold that he proposes (what ever that is to charity). This is a BS argument. Maybe he does contribute a lot of his money to charity. Given the nature of his deal on the profits of his Farenheight 451 movie I doubt that he does this. I don't begrudge Moore his money at all but I have problem with someone that advocates higher taxes because poor people need the money and gives a pittance himself compared to how much he makes. Why doesn't Moore trumpet his donations to charity if he feels so strongly about this? Why not show the American taxpayer how the money can make a difference in people's lives?

Sorry fim, you and the original claimer are wrong. Most economist believes that not all corporate tax is passed on to consumers.

[/ QUOTE ]

You're right, the rest are passed on to shareholders.

Corporations will always put profit making ahead of the general well-being of society.

No $#!^, Sherlock. The reason we start corporations is to make profit.

I just hate the total hypocrisy from Michael Moore. He gripes about these rich, rich corporations. Michael Moore makes tens of millions a year. He could give some to poor people. Does he? No. He bought a nice house on Long Island, amongst all the CEOs.

[/ QUOTE ]

What the hell do you know about Michael Moore? Are you his accountant?

Or just a rant to please the right wingers in the forum?
Or maybe the kind of rant "I'm so above of partisanship"; look, I'm attacking Michael Moore.

But my best guess is you just don't have any idea what you're talking about and just feel like posting.

[/ QUOTE ]

Why would you think that? Other than 4800 posts in 10 weeks I mean.***

(*** Sarcasm intended here)

Maybe the same reason why even there's nothing stopping the war lovers to enlist and they don't.

And I really think Michael M. gives a good use to his money. Some posters here don't have the minimum idea about how he distributes his money, but they can't help the slander.

I really hope he continues winnining millions of dollars. He deserves it. He's one of the best in his field and he works really hard to earn his money.

Despite how you label his films, he's well respected by his peers in the field.

We now get to the point where we support corporations becoming something more than persons! Tax persons with something, but corporations with nothing.

It's not too hard to understand Cyrus. Taxing a corporation is just a hidden way of taxing people. When a business is taxed, shareholders/owners earn less, customers pay more, and workers lose jobs. Some posters take issue with my call for a 0% corporate tax because there's some question as to whether 100% of the corporate tax is really shouldered by citizens and individuals.

Where does the money come from, a magic bottle? It comes from PEOPLE. All you socialists should understand at least that much.

For me, the most important reason to eliminate corporate tax is to eliminate the unfair business playing field that has been created by lobbying and an arcane tax system. It spawns corruption on capital hill and turns into a content where each corporation is trying to get congress to steal money from the public and give to their own shareholders. This is absolutely immoral.
