The qualifier of "decent" is important. Do you think a decent player plays those hands that way? If I'm playing with those hands out of position, my raise would be much stronger. Actually, I would never c/r with those hands - I'd lead it out. If I'm including those hands in the range I think he plays this way, then I like a push.

However, I am open to the idea that I'm getting outplayed in a situation like this (see downlow's post). I agree with the idea that overbetting the pot asks to be played back at more than a standards 3/4 pot bet. If it were me, I would have fired 75ish on the flop.

I think you should bet smaller at this and control the pot. You want to get to showdown cheaply....I don't see the wisdom in trying to make the pot big enough to just push on the turn . If I had like QQ-AA I'd want to do that but not with 88 on this board.

I'd bet ~65 on this flop most likely. I feel it will be profitable and for value. I don't want to invest much more here with this hand on this flop. In fact, I don't mind checking behind and seeing how they play the turn.

I think Negative EV is playing in a -$EV manner right here...meta-game or no.

I feel like a 60-75 bet by me on this flop encourages blinds to make a move. I feel like when I bet the 110, the blinds will make a move less often and will actually have the goods when they pop me back. Like I said, I could be wrong.....

[/ QUOTE ]

Wow, negativeEV... I've never seen you write something before that's this far off.

You have it exactly backwards.
