Maybe it's just sour grapes but I think if they made him call because of the chip dance and fold because of the muck then he would not be so quick to pull this crap and that would really be in the best interest of the game.

Default Someone Summon the Bad Beat Police

If in fact this went down as you describe (dubious), then I feel your pain. But there are some glaring inconsistencies in your post that make me feel this is a hidden BAD BEAT POST rather than really a question about the ruling. I mean, really, you make a raise (presumably less than 10 handed) from EP with JJ and are arguing against a forced call from someone who has expressed every interest in folding?

I played in this tournament on Monday (2nd, thank you!) and was kind of taken aback at the way some of the dealers dealt with the players. At one point I was counting my chips--well behind my cards, and just to see how much I had, and before I announced any raise--and was told I could only make a minimum bet. At a later table, one player was repeatedly sanctioned for counting out his bets before he announced them, while another (the eventual winner, who I am told has won this tournament a number of times) was allowed to move forward with a huge stack of chips and count out whatever he wanted. I am not complaining, mind you--towards the end the dealer at the final table literally dragged me to the finish line--but the general approach seemed unnecessarily aggressive. The players were generally well behaved and there were no complaints from players about their opponent's betting technique.

Well, I had two things happen at a NL table last weekend in the space of 15 minutes that led the players to call a manager over.

1st "huh???": player in seat 7 is heads up with seat 6. Raises big, 6 folds. Mr. 7 holds up hand for 6 to see then pitches the cards at the muck. The dealer gathers them up and starts to shuffle the next hand. Seats 2 (me) and 3 both say "show one, show all" to which the dealer responds "too late"

Squeeze me? Baking powder?

2nd "huh??" (and this is what really fired up some folks) Player in seat 5 is debating a call of 20x BB and the dealer says "hey, it's only money". SAY WHAT? And the guy does call, hits his [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] flush and beats KKK. I felt both players had a legit bitch as did everyone else NOT in the hand.

We waved for a floor manager and he ended up putting the dealer on break early after listening to both situations.

That was a first for me, but I just started casino play this year; all online before.

Perhaps the dealer was looking to punish this guy for his antics, and was waiting for the slightest violation/technicality to force him to commit his chips while still in keeping with official rules.

Obviously he didn't have to play, but with his chips committed by the floor guy he had no choice but to play the flop.

First, if you are going to flame me be specific.

2nd, I don't consider this a bad beat - I was out drawn

3rd, I would take issue with this if I had won the hand because the next time it might be a steal with nothing

yeah, i could see a dealer getting really fed up with this bs if this guy does it for a minute each time it's raised to him.....it's so stupid

maybe the quick pace of online play has made me a pretty quick thinker, but i can not stand waiting a long time to make a decision. i feel that most of my decisions are made within about 30 seconds to a minute- and that's only when they're HARD decisions. Not a decision like deciding to call off most of my stack with 4 high against a ep raiser, maybe i'm not an idiot like this guy.

or possibly idiotic in other aspects.
