Re: Would a good winning 2/4 player stand a chance at 15/30
[ QUOTE ]
I just seems like this one comes up every week and there is no way to answer it. [/ QUOTE ] Not true. You just have to find someone dumb enough to have done it. |

Flair put it well. Something else you have to adjust to when moving up is the dollar amount of your swings. Taking a 200bb downswing at 2/4 feel much different then the same downswing at 15/30. When moving up in cash games it took me a long time to get used the dollar amounts and view everything in terms of bets.

He stands a decent chance.
I wouldnt even say the games are tighter than 2/4, I have yet to have a session where i had more than one table with a VPIP under 20. When i first jumped to 15/30 i was practilly dumfounded at how beatable the games were. All it takes is non-tilting play and a big enough B-roll. |

He would get absolutely raped. I could win 2.5BB/100 at 2/4 in my sleep, it doesnt mean [censored].
Yes there is a huge difference between 2/4 and 15/30. Go watch a game for 5min. |

I don't know why your poll stops at "a modest winner" i.e. IMO, a good winning 2-4 player can also become a good winning 15-30 player and perhaps make even more bb/100 at 15-30 than at 2-4. It all depends on how good he is or can become with experience.
