Did Gus come back and win last night (UK Poker Open)

Hi.

I missed the end of the heat last night. Gus was HU with a 3-1 chip disadvantage. How did it finish?

I didn't think Roy Brindley played too well. I think it's quite educational listening to him commentate because he explains things very well, but I don't think he actually played the way he would normally advocate.

You've got to love Devilfish's commentary though :-)

Any other comments?

Hansen lost.

Got the stacks back to 50/50 with exactly 300k each.

Gus raised first in with Q8o, Born reraised all-in with AQs and Hansen called.... didn't suck out this time.

It was interesting viewing last night. Gus ground his way back from an early hit, got lucky to knock out Devilfish, had two players donate their stacks to him, made a marginal call of an all-in with Q9 vs A5 to knock out Lofthouse, blew his heads up chip lead then ground back to exactly even chip stacks.

After all that I can't believe he called off all his chips with Q8 (vs AQ) to knock himself out. It was bizarre, but great viewing!

Devilfish and Roy 'The Boy's' slagging match was hilarious to witness, particularly as it carried over into the commentary and interviews. Roy's argument seems to be that Devilfish is arrogant, while Devilfish's argument is that Roy is crap. While both may be valid points it really only leaves one winner of the argument at the end of the day.

My sky+ screwed up and only recorded the last hour and a bit but I thought it was a classic. BPO getting better and better imo. Makes me feel slightly better about the thousand dollar plus I spent on failing to qualify for the stupid bloody thing. Tonight could be another classic and we've still got Fossilman and Ivey to come...

Its a live tournament being shown on The Poker Channel (UK TV station).

Not sure when or if it'll ever be aired in the US.

i recently cancelled my subscription sky digital all the channels are gone but for some reason I still have the poker channel,........ i think its a sign!!!!
