Borgata daily tournament, I’m short stacked with 15k – average stack is 30 – 45K 18 players left 9 paid.

EP and I’m delt A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] I decide to try and steal since the anties are 300; the blinds are 1k 2k and everyone is tightening up this close to the money; I push all – in. Folds around to one player who calls and turns over 2-2. You guesed it 2-2 hold up and I’m out.

Was this premature? I had 2 full orbits left by just folding but I didn’t think I could just fold into the money. Should I have bet less? I felt that a 3x BB bet pot committed me anyway so….comments?

I would push here as well. You are in EP, so the blinds are coming your way soon and you have only 7.5 BB in your stack. The pot is already about 6k and with the table tightening up this close to the money AJs is an excellent hand to make this kind of move. Too bad the villain's ducks held up.
