Dumb?

Playing 5/10 live game. I'm dealt 4 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] in BB. LAG player makes a standard raise to 20 UTG. Button calls, once again, another loose player. I call 10 more. Flop comes 2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. I bet $35 in a $60 pot, UTG raises to $70, button calls. I have an extremely tight image at the table, so i push for $250 more in the now, $235 pot. My thought was neither hit and button was on the diamond draw. Is this a really dumb play and should've just check folded from the flop? Considering they are both LAG, should i have just mucked the flop? Any other lines of action I can take preflop and post flop? This is one of my more iffy moves of trying new things out I suppose. I'm not too experienced, so please, keep the insults and cursing down to a minimum. [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img] And I suppose one could say I was slightly steaming.

Would you make the same play if you had the lone 4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]? That should tell you whether or not this was good.

I disagree - you get your answer if you have the lone 4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] not 4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] That card gives you more equity in the pot and takes 3 outs from opponents flush draws.

What sort of equity? Hoping to hit a 1 outer? maybe 2? No. This looks nice cause you ahve the 4 of diamonds and the board is diamonds, believe me, this draw is not as nice as it looks.

No, I would not make the same play with 44 [non diamond] and I would not make the play with just the lone 4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

Yeah, I agree. However, I was only pushing due to my INCREDIBLY tight image due to a cold run of cards. I felt I may have been ahead with a pair on the flop, and the open ended straight draw and even the straight flush draw were my fallbacks if i had gotten called.
