That is seriously one of the most amazing things I have ever heard. Hopefully you wear a helmet now. [/ QUOTE ] Scary thing to me was I had just dropped off my then-girlfriend not 10 minutes before. Yes, I was super lucky, and yes, I absolutely wear helmets when riding. Although it's been probably 5 years since I last got on a bike. (I had the shakes so bad I couldn't ride the first time I tried to after the accident) |

I'm the best foosball player by far. [/ QUOTE ] I'm really good at foosball. I've had a table in my basement since I was 12 or so. I can't really remember losing at all to anyone except my dad on occasion, who taught me to play and has been playing since college. |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I was a professional tennis player from age 18 until 25....I was once ranked as high as number 47 in the world. I've won matches at Wimbledon, the US Open and Roland Garros and I have victories over former number Ones Mats Wilander, Stefan Edberg and Andre Agassi...although, to be honest, my victory over Agassi was when he was 13! So....even though I haven't touched a racket in seven years, I'm pretty sure I could whup anyone's ass on 2+2 when it comes to tennis. [/ QUOTE ] What's your name? [/ QUOTE ] I don't give out my name on here...simply because of my tennis past and my moviemaking present (both legitimate and adult). I've had problems with weirdos before - not that I think you're one! As for the tennis background - there's no way you would've heard of me unless you were an absolute tennis freak in the late 80's and/or also played back then. [/ QUOTE ] with all the information you just gave, it wouldnt be to hard to find I dont think....and wtf are you babbling about tennis for? Sounds like you are the best porn star on 2+2, now thats much more impressive! [/ QUOTE ] okay, i was never IN a porn movie, I've only directed them! Possibly freediving. 110' or so is no prob. Tho I know there's a couple of hawaiian guys around 2+2 who may or may not beat that.
If not that, then definitely spearfishing with just a pole spear (no gun...mano-a-fisho w/ just a sharp stick).... ![]() |

The problems are not available online.
The Bridge World is the premier bridge magazine (at least in English). They essentially invented the bidding panel type of problem. Each month they include 7 bidding problems and one opening lead problem, to be answered using the Bridge World Standard system. Between 20 and 30 bridge experts are invited to vote and their answers are excerpted in the column. (There is a director who provides scoring for the problems. There is a rotating set of directors.) Each year's highest two scorers are invited to either join the panel for a year or to participate in a parthership bidding challenge. (Two years ago, I was fifth. Last year I was third...so I just missed getting on the panel for this year.) The magazine is excellent. No serious bridge player should really be without it. Information about subscriptions as well as some sample items are available at www.bridgeworld.com You can get system information there for use in the Master Solvers' Club. (The system is basically a gadget-ridden five card major, strong notrump system with hefty 2/1 requirements.) I'll give the problems from last month here if you want to try your hand at them. If you do, I'll tell you your scores (and tell you what I chose when I answered). Tell me if the formatting doesn't make sense to you: Problem A: Matchpoints, vulnerable vs. not T95 Q AQ84 A9876 RHO deals and opens 1C, which is passed around to partner who reopens with a double. RHO overcalls a with a preemptive 3C (our opponents are preempt-happy this month). 1S-(3C)-? Your call? Regardless of what call you make, LHO then bids 4C if sufficient. This is passed around to you. What is your call now? 1S-(3C)-?-(4C) P-(P)-? G) IMPs, both vulnerable Partner deals and opens 3D. RHO overcalls 3S. 3D-(3S)-? Your call? H) Matchpoints, neither vulnerable K532 KT64 Q43 T2 Against the uncontested opponent auction: 1NT-2C-2H-3NT What card do you lead? (1NT was strong, 2C was stayman, 2H promises four hearts but does not deny four spades, 3NT promises four spades.) Good luck, Skip |

I explained it in an old thread about two player drinking games. Basically it's a way to slow the game down and emphasize long skill shots. When we played regular drink-per-make quarters we could go through a six-pack each in under ten minutes, so we invented this:
[ QUOTE ] Our best two player variation: Super Quarters It's a turn based game so it might be too slow for you. Each player gets a shotglass and 4 quarters. Player 1 shoots his four quarters consecutively until he misses 1 or all 4 are made. When the turn is over, player 2 does the same. If player 1 does not make his first shot, it switches to player 2's turn. If he makes 1- player 2 takes 1 drink If he makes 2 in a row- player 2 takes 4 drinks If he makes 3 in a row- player 2 takes 6 drinks If he makes 4 in a row- player 2 owes 8 drinks AND Player 1 slams his quarters down and yells "Set 'em up!" Player 2 then arranges the two shot glasses exactly 5 quarter spaces apart. Player 1 then chooses 1 of the quarters and has a chance at a "Gamebreaker." If he can bounce his quarter from behind his shotglass and into player 2's shotglass, player 2 then owes another 40 drinks, on top of the previous 8. After the drinks are paid, the turn is over and player 2 shoots. Very fun game for two players. We've had people gather around to watch us at parties and bars because we get so into it. Gamebreakers seriously drive the crowd wild. Enjoy! [/ QUOTE ] Oh, and yeah, definitely learn to switch hit. It makes for some cool Princess Bride style "oh but I know something you don't... I'm not left-handed" shenanigans. |
