What do you do while playing poker online?

I practice musical instruments. I'm in a band and I woodshed my parts between poker clicks. I also sometimes noodle along with whatever music I'm listening to.

Practicing guitar chords by themselves is pretty dull, but if you're just chunking them out once a while between hands, it doesn't seem dull at all.

but i was serious. i try not to pay attention to all the action while playing. im watching tv and cruising 2plus2. to be focussing on everyones patterns 40 hours a week is robotic. i cant do it. i rely soley on stats. its too hard to focus when playing 500 hands/hr. however, when you play higher limits this obviously has to change, because stats may no longer be enough to beat the games.

First post, so take it easy on me. If you're not paying attention to the action while you're playing, aren't you wasting your time? If you're beating the game at the level you are playing so easy that you don't have to pay attention to the action on the table, then shouldn't you move up in levels? If you're not beating the game at the level you're playing, shouldn't you maybe pay attention to the action?

I don't mean this as a rip on the people that say they're not paying attention, but this just seems like a valid question. Maybe I'm missing something.

Put on some head phones, shut the door, shut the ringer off on the phone, and play some techno club music, I try to find the stuff that has no or very little words so I do not get distracted by the music, but it is better than hearing the "your turn to act" beep or the "Congrats" sound IMHO and it still allows me to pay attention to the 4 tables I am on.
