Default Help: ISO warm weather, beaches, internet, and poker

So I really like this situation where I have no job and pay the bills playing poker. And I like Washington, DC, as well. However, with no real tether to any particular location, I'm considering a long-term trip, 6-12 months, to somewhere else. The criteria, in order of importance, are reliable internet connectivity, nice weather, beaches, a not-insignificant 20-something-and-putzing-around-in-paradise-for-a-year culture (so as to have a pool of kindred spirits from which to forge friendships), and live poker. So far I'm considering Australia, Hawaii, and the Caribbean.

If I went to Australia it would probably be Melbourne, since I have the sworn testimony of several Australian players that Sydney, the other city with public poker, handles it terribly ($1AUS collection per player per hand, to give you an idea). Also, a friend is probably getting a gig in a brass band in New Zealand, so that's a possibility (Yes, I know NZ is not part of Australia).

If Hawaii, well, no public card rooms I guess, but hell, it's still Hawaii. And I could bug this Hawaiian kid I know about where the good places are to set up shop.

Now the Caribbean, I'm pretty much without direction. So I come to you kind citizens of the zoo for information. Can anyone recommend an island that has safe long-term housing, moderate cost of living, public card rooms, and of course, solid internet access. I guess The Bahamas have (has? grammatically one country of many islands?) Atlantis, which has a big huge casino, right? Is there poker there year-round? Is it possible to live within some practical distance of this resort?

And of course, recommendations for other parts of the world are welcome.

Costa rica? Never been, but from what I've heard it has quite a bit of what you're looking for.

Siesta Key, Fl. Just spent 2 weeks there. White sandy beaches, some night life (but not crazy in your face spring break stuff), I believe there are casinos within 2 hours in Tampa and an indian casino close by, also greyhound racing.

Aruba is nice... plus crime is almost non-existant there. The live poker games don't get going until night though (nothing during the day).

Ultimatebet goes there once a year for their WPT tourney too.
