Zip the back up for me?
2/4 NL
I'm playing a relatively short stack with ~$270. BB has $250ish and UTG+1 has me covered. The table is tight-passive, usually a LMP-to-button raise for 3xBB, maybe a heads-up flop. A limp will set off a lot of limping. UTG folds, UTG+1 limps, fold, limp, I limp in MP with 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], button limps, SB probably threw in a couple chips, can't remember, BB knocks. Flop: 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] BB bets $20, UTG+1 calls, I call. Turn: 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] BB checks, UTG+1 bets $20, I call, BB calls. River: K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] BB checks, UTG+1 bets $20, I call, BB folds. Comments appreciated. |

Re: Zip the back up for me?
i'm too the point where i am taking the pot on the turn unless i have the absolute nuts. unless here u smooth call cause u are afraid u are behind, but i think u try to try the pot without a showdown.
hopefully someone mroe qualified gives a better answer. |

Re: Zip the back up for me?
Yeah I raise the turn. I like some more money going into the pot here. His bet seems very weak. I'd probably make a valuebet on the river if got called, but fold if reraised.

Re: Zip the back up for me?
Anyone raise the flop? You're very likely ahead, but you have no idea what you're up against. BB especially could be holding or drawing to anything. So I'd make them pay now. I'm pretty new though, would welcome counterarguments.

Re: Zip the back up for me?
I think raising the flop is important. Calling leaves you with almost certainly the best hand but no idea what anyone else has. Reraise the flop to $60 and go from there. A5 and 44 are almost certianlty RR all in. Draws are calling. Most hands are folding. You can take it from there depending on how people act.
As you played it calling it down is the only sensible option when the 8 falls. |

Re: Zip the back up for me?
If I raise the turn, what better hands am I going to fold? And if I'm ahead, what hands am I afraid of giving a cheap card to?

[ QUOTE ] As you played it calling it down is the only sensible option when the 8 falls. [/ QUOTE ] I had originally planned on making my move on the turn (unless the action went something like BB bets, UTG+1 moves in) but after the only draw came in, I was pumping the brakes unless I rivered a 6 or a 7. |
