Default Statisticians or poker players?

I've been reading the forums of posters here, and I would have to applaud the level of professionalism here. I came across this feeling that a lot of the players here are in search of the ABC structured strategy to get the dollars. I have always thought of myself as a mediocre player capable of mediocre wins. I would like to ask the forum a simple question: "how much of an edge am I missing from not keeping complete stats". Also, I would love to hop on a chatline or chat client (aol, etc.) to just talk about the game and present/past experiences. Thanks.

if you never kept your stats with pokertracker, but you knew what your hourly rate is, it wouldnt really make that much of a difference. however, when used correctly, stats can really allow for you to improve your game drastically. if you dont keep track of your own stats though, but read all about the stats on this forum, it would slow your learning curve a little bit but you can easily make this up in other ways.

Keep in mind that all those books we worship were written by people who never used PT. All this fancy computer stuff is certainly not necessary, but you are passing up an edge by not learning how to take advantage of such tools.

Your question doesn't match the poll, at all.

Can you be successful without taking stats? Of course.

Would you improve your game if you kept stats? Probably.

My fault dude or dudette. I'm a newbie and it just looked so tempting. My bad if I looked like an idiot. It has passed the edit deadline. Sry! I'll be on point from now on. Maybe my two cents has shrunk to a couple pesos?

WTF is this?

To answer your question, you NEED to keep accurate stats as far as your amount of winnings and hourly rate or BB/100 goes (for tax purposes if nothing else). After that, it's up to you.
