boring hand, but whats your default play
Mirage 10/20. Loose but not crazy player limps UTG, mirage regular raises from early middle, loose player cold calls on his immediate left, I 3-bet KK from the button, blinds fold and others call. 4 to the flop with 13.5 SB's in the pot.
Flop A84 rainbow UTG checks Original raiser bets Loose player folds Hero.... This was a fold at the lower limits, but with 14.5 SB's and players who bluff more often I'm unsure. Hero raises UTG folds Middle position calls Turn (A84)6. No flush draw Middle position checks Hero checks Should this be a bet for me? River (A846)2 Middle position checks Hero checks Thanks |

Bet the turn. If he calls take the free show down.

Re: boring hand, but whats your default play
I think he is only going to call a turn bet with hands that beat me here. And I doubt he is laying down an A. I'm not so happy giving him a free shot at what may be 2 outs, but I'm also behind here often enough to take the free card myself.
And that brings me back to the flop. Would he really bet an underpair on that flop into a cold caller and 3-bettor? Maybe the mistake was not folding the flop. |

[/ QUOTE ] In what's already a sizeable pot, folding immediately without further evidence that you're behind would be a major mistake. He can easily hold QQ-99, or something else that you can beat (unless you read him to be uber-passive). Raise the flop. Bet the turn. And check behind on the river. |
