Default Re: Live 0/8 Frustrations

[ QUOTE ]
You are generally correct. And that is why O8 never "took over the poker world," as was predicted in the 80's.

Some O8 games are very pleasant and well run, moreso than HE, as Toots said earlier. But most are frustrating and slow. One friend of mine hates O8 so much he calls it "Arguha" instead of "Omaha."

The one thing that keeps O8 worth playing is the abominable play. O8 is the one game where your hand only gets stronger, the more players in the pot, instead of weaker. This can turn a losing session into a good win, with just ONE pot.

There is no schooling in O8, so the more, the merrier, and they mostly make sure to play every, single hand, all the way up through 10/20.

If you have infinite patience and aren't susceptible to tilt, O8 can be the perfect game.

Arguha? lol

That is good, because there is usually 4 people arguing and yelling at the dealer after each hand.

What you say is correct though about the juicy games. It just so happens though that the few times I have tried it live, I have gone completely card dead.
