Default 2/5 NL KK in EP

Bought in $200, most players have ~$400-500. Table is generally loose, there is a fair amount of PF raising, but very little PF re-raising (loose calls tho with a $15 standard raise.)

UTG limps (Pot: $12)
Hero is KK UTG+2 raises to $20 (Pot: $32)
all fold to SB
SB calls, BB folds, UTG calls (Pot: $65)

I have been at the table for about 15 minutes, from what I can tell both these guys like to limp and see a lot of hands, and then fold to flop aggression.

Flop: 9 6 2 (rainbow) (Pot: $65)

SB checks, UTG checks, Hero bets $40 (Pot: $105)

SB raises to $200
UTG folds

Since I bought in for $200, this bet puts me all in.

I thought about it for a couple minutes and then called. Comments?

u think he would do this with 1010-QQ? a set seems much more likely given the board and ur description of villain. im probably folding here.

I can't believe the poster above me would fold KK in this spot. The hero underbet a 60 dollar pot with 40, and the villian check raises to 200? what is the villian trying to protect? cetainly he dosnt think the hero has 78 or the likes, If the villian has the set he must believe that he is eons ahead of the hero and this calls for a slowplay. The only way I fastplay a set in this spot is if I am certain Hero has a big pair, which i certainly can not be because of the underbet into the pot. I'm taking about 10 seconds to call here and expect the villian to table a9 or a medium pair. ... results?

I'd beat him into the pot here. I expect to see something like J9 from the SB.

More power to him if he has the set, but this is a must call for these stack sizes. Unless you have a unbelievable physical read here, there's no way to fold.

You say these guys like to see alot of flops too - even more reason to believe you have him crushed.

Easy call.

make preflop raise to 25.

folding KK on 9 high flop with 40bb stack after preflop raise?

w/o reads, this is easy call every time.

I called and he reluctantly flipped over 33, turn and river were no help and I doubled up. Just kind of nervous about the hand, b/c he could've easily flopped a set. But the way I played it I thought his bet seemed weak. I put him on QQ or JJ or even TT, couldn't be AA b/c he didn't re-raise PF.

If you have a bigger stack, this is a tough decision. With 40bb it is really no decision at all. Good luck to em if they flop a set.

It's funny you should say that, after the hand he said he thought I had more chips than that, otherwise he wouldn't have done it.

I would play a set exactly like this. I am out of position so I check hoping for the continuation bet and the pf raiser bets 3/4 of the pot.
If I just call, I have to check the next street and hope he falls for the check raise again. With an overpair he will bet again say 1/2 the time. With an overpair and these small stacks he will call my re-raise 4/5 of the time.
The pf raiser only has another $125 and there is a $100 in the pot. I therefore re-raise my set (maybe just another $60 to pot commit him, but anyway).

There are a lot of hands that you have beat that make this move as well and you are getting 2:1. It's not an easy decision for me.
