Re: Stolen Content Guide on 2+2
[ QUOTE ]
Researching information is not plagarism. I'm not trying to take sides here [/ QUOTE ] I'm not taking sides either -- I don't know the specifics at all -- but from what TM said upthread, there was a collection of links that he, uh, "borrowed". It's possible that that could be considered a "database or collection of information". Then again, maybe not. |

Just report his affiliate links for spamming. Get his accounts closed. Then he can go back to Burger King. Nobody makes fries like Metetron.

Re: Stolen Content Guide on 2+2
You kids are silly. Anyone who posts casino whoring information in a forum should consider it free knowledge. Really, like that other feller said, improve you're poker game and stop being a worry wort. I don't know what I'm doing wasting MY time here.

Re: Stolen Content Guide on 2+2
Anyone know why 2+2 is allowing Blackjack to slander another person in a public forum by calling him a theif? It's pretty outrageous imo.
The truth is this guy wants no info post/read on 2+2 becuase he feels that it has a negative effect on his earning potential. After posting a few weeks ago about a bonus i got theis PM from him minutes later [ QUOTE ] Stop.. From: Blackjack If you want bonuses to stay alive.. stop posting [censored] about them please. Re: Stolen Content Guide on 2+2
Just a tidbit:
EVERY work created by ANYONE is automatically protected by copyright law. They don't need to apply, they don't need to have a nifty little (C) symbol, or anything, it IS protected. As to whether or not, in this case, the information is free-use.. That is the only question in my mind. Internet Copyright Info:http://webdesign.about.com/od/copyright/a/aa081700a.htm -Arthur |

Re: Stolen Content Guide on 2+2

[ QUOTE ] Anything you post is yours. You can claim copyright on all of it. [/ QUOTE ] True, but not complete. Certain things are not copyrightable, certain things are considered public knowledge, certain exceptions exist for free use. In this case, you can't honestly tell me (if you have any knowledge of copyright law) that this is something that I'm going to get an intellectual property suit over? He found the website. I posted the websites on casinowhoring.com; it's like saying if I found some sites on google and posted links here I am guilty of copyright infringement... [/ QUOTE ] None of which applies in your case. Be a man and just say you stole the information and you don't care what anybody thinks about it. Don't try to weazel out of it by arguing copyright issues because you clearly don't know what you are talking about in that domain. |

Re: Stolen Content Guide on 2+2
Perspective from an IP law student:
The original content was copyrighted (as is ANY original written work -- no need for application / approval >> it is copyrighted). Metetron's use, if more or less verbatim...and any single sentence lifted verbatim would definitely qualify, although i haven't looked at his page...is copyright infringement, no ifs ands or buts. Whether the original author chooses the file suit is the real issue -- in this case, I really can't see it being worth his while to do so (sure he might get an injunction, but it would be tough to claim substantial damages), but he's got an open and shut copyright infringement case if he chooses. |

Re: Stolen Content Guide on 2+2
I wouldn't worry about it too much as there's really no way to prove damages. But perhaps there is a way to prove that it was used for financial gain.
However when it comes to stealing images, there's been a crackdown lately. Linky |
