Default Cut-off steal, 1 call, flopped OESD

Hi.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t200 (9 handed) converter

Button (t11580)
SB (t7745)
BB (t8495)
UTG (t18187)
UTG+1 (t5143)
MP1 (t17525)
MP2 (t13545)
MP3 (t8325)
Hero (t10045)

Preflop: Hero is CO with T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
1 fold, UTG+1 calls t200, 2 folds, MP3 calls t200, Hero raises to t1000, 3 folds, UTG+1 calls t800, MP3 folds.

Flop: (t2400) K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
UTG+1 checks, ???

What do you do in this type of situation? You raise in LP to try and take down the pot but a limper calls, and then you flop a draw. Do you make a continuation bet, knowing that you could be set up for a check-raise. After which you would probably have to throw it away, unless the pot was offering odds to call? Or can you check here? And hope to get this pot done with as cheaply as possible?

Cheers.

Personally i would bet about 1400-1500 here and fold to an all in raise(unless you wanted to take a gamb00l), unless he has a King i doubt he is going to be able to call here. My guess is he has a small PP or a suited ace, thinking your on the steal. How did it go in the end?

This is what happened:

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t200 (9 handed) converter

Button (t11580)
SB (t7745)
BB (t8495)
UTG (t18187)
UTG+1 (t5143)
MP1 (t17525)
MP2 (t13545)
MP3 (t8325)
Hero (t10045)

Preflop: Hero is CO with T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
1 fold, UTG+1 calls t200, 2 folds, MP3 calls t200, Hero raises to t1000, 3 folds, UTG+1 calls t800, MP3 folds.

Flop: (t2400) K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
UTG+1 checks, Hero bets t1200, UTG+1 raises to t2400, Hero calls t1200.

So, much like you suggested, I made a bet (exactly half the pot), and was check-raised. But I then realised I was getting 5-1 from the pot to see the turn, and as long as all 8 of my outs were good (which vs 1 player I assumed they would be) I could call the 1200. This got me thinking - if I had made a smaller bet, say 800-1000, and he check min-raised me, then I would have had even better odds to call. Is this flawed logic because I would seem weak and open myself up to be bluff-raised?

Turn: (t7200) 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
UTG+1 bets t1718 (All-In), Hero calls t1718.

Well, I missed, but I was getting slightly better than 5-1 to see the river, so again I had to call.

River: (t10636) 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players, 1 all-in)

Well, I hit my straight on the river to win a nice pot but realise I got away with it. From a simple attempt to steal the pot I could have wasted half of my stack.

Final Pot: t10636

BTW, he had KJ.
